Design │ The Connection Of Contradictions


[Connecting height, angle, as well as aspect by creating circulations and changing the skyline.]
When I first walked in the alley, it felt wide by Taiwan standards. But when I look up, I figured it was the light traveling through the space of canopies, plantes,and various materials into the alley that provided the open feeling. Unlike the street level which is quite open, just as rainforest canopies are thick and thin, so was this and other similar Taiwan building canopies.

If you cut a section at differet heights, each layer will create its own skyline. 
Light is created by the various aspects of materials, from their transparency to their height.
In concept, I tried to use linear relationships to create connections.

Design │ From Elements To Field

The site building was originally an old dormitory for the families of the public university employees nearby. However, as time pass by, most of the residents were moved out and left the building into a state of dilapidation.
